I occassionally acquire “vintage” digital cameras from the early 2000s, the kind with tiny screens on the back. As with many consumer-grade devices, while they were not intended to last for more than a couple years, many of them have quite a lot of life left in them. I find that these cameras provide a certain “warmth” that is difficult to replicate with the modern cameras embedded in our phones.

You can find many of these cameras in excellent condition for less than $100 dollars on eBay or locally if you’re lucky with vintage shopping. Certain production runs and models are much better than others, so be sure to do your research and purchase from a reputable dealer.

For each photography set, I’ve provided information about the specific camera I used.
